The SFO currently has around 140 active vessels in membership, made up of nephrops trawlers, whitefish trawlers (both single and twin-rig trawls), pelagic trawlers and scallop dredgers. Our members are located all around the Scottish coastline.

Collectively SFO members catch a significant proportion of all the fish landed into Scotland, including pelagic species (herring, mackerel and blue whiting) demersal species (cod, haddock, megrim, monkfish, plaice, saithe and whiting) and shellfish (nephrops and scallops).

Our main landing ports include Buckie, Campbeltown, Fraserburgh, Kinlochbervie, Lerwick, Mallaig, Oban, Peterhead, Scrabster, Stornoway, Tarbert and Troon, while pelagic vessels generally land in Scotland and in Norway.
