Marine Scotland – Chartering Opportunity
I wish to bring your attention to a chartering opportunity which has now been posted on the Scottish Government Public Portal.
Marine Scotland invites proposals from demersal trawlers of overall length greater than 26 m (85 ft 4”) to undertake a scientific study of anglerfish to the north of Scotland Sea in exchange for scientific quota to be used during that study.
The research survey will start on 23rd April 2012, departing from a port on the north coast of Scotland to be specified in consultation with Marine Scotland Science staff.
The Scottish scientific study carried out on the successful commercial vessel using the allocated scientific quota will consist of two parts. In the first part, a research survey of 16 days duration, the vessel will fish according to a predefined set of survey stations using the standard survey net.
This is a summary of the requirements. For specific details, please register on the Public Contracts Scotland (registeration free of charge) and search for "Charter for Monkfish Industry Science Group Scientific Study 2012", whereupon documents can be downloaded from.
Closing date for receipt of bids is 1200hrs on 13 April 2012.
